4. Follows up with patients/families for all abnormal test results
5. Follow-up with inpatient facility on hearing screening and metabolic screening to get results
6. Notifies patients/families of all normal test results.
By policy, all patient testing is reported to the patent and/or family whether it is normal or abnormal.  A telephone contact is attempted but if not successful a postal notice is sent. If the result is critical to the patient’s health and we are unable to contact them, we will involve law enforcement in an attempt to find the patient and then send a registered letter.
