| SETMA's Rheumatology Department was founded by Dr. Vijay Kumar, who is board certified in Rheumatology. Although most arthritic conditions do not lead to a terminal illness, there are few illnesses which cause as much pain and suffering as those associated with the practice of Rheumatology. Whether it is chronic, degenerative osteoarthritis, debilitating rheumatoid arthritis, the common, yet illusive fibromyalgia, or one of the unusual immune conditions, excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of joint pain, inflammation, or deterioration is critical for your health and well being. In addition to all of the above, Dr. Kumar is expert in diagnosing and treating all of the connective tissue diseases such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosis which are often difficult to diagnosis and manage. Dr.
Kumar is knowledgeable and experienced in the treatment of all conditions which fall under and/or associated with the musculoskeletal and connective tissue systems of the body. In addition, Dr. Kumar is skilled and experience in all joint injections and the treatment of chronic knee problems with Synvisc injections for osteoarthritis of the knee. Dr. Kumar works in collaboration with SETMA's Physical Therapy Department to provide you with a full array of services for the improvement of your mobility, quality of life and relief from joint pain. Dr. Kumar's is a welcomed addition to SETMA. His winsome personality, compassionate care and expert knowledge make him a valued member of SETMA's growing multi-specialty healthcare team.
